Biography
Chase was born in Southern California and grew up in Washington state,[1] before eventually returning to Los Angeles, where he currently resides and occasionally instructs at Musicians Institute.[2] Chase was born with albinism and has severe visual impairment.[3]
Chase toured with American nu metal band Korn from 2006–2008. It was on tour with Korn in 2007 that he befriended Joey Jordison.[3] He also performed on the 2007 MTV Unplugged release as a backup vocalist and multi-instrumentalist (donning a white rabbit mask).[4]
Vimic made their debut on SiriusXM in an interview with Joey Jordison on May 5, 2016.[5] After touring the US in 2016 and embarking on a world tour in 2017,[6] Vimic's debut album "Open Your Omen" was set to be released. As of August 2020, Chase was still hopeful the album would come out.[7]
After a career in metal and Vimic on indefinite hiatus,[3] Chase officially returned to his singer-songwriter roots in 2020. The change in genre stemmed largely from conversations with record producer Kato Khandwala, whom he met while with Vimic.[8] Prior to Khandwala's death in 2018 in a motorcycle accident,[9] Chase had worked closely with the producer on his original material and was encouraged to pursue it.
In March 2020, Chase wrote, recorded, and released solo acoustic single When the Sun Comes Up amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On June 26, 2020, Chase released Good Things featuring Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls on drums.
On August 21, 2020, Chase released Let Them Come featuring Pete Thorn (who has shared the stage with Don Henley, Chris Cornell, and Melissa Etheridge)[10] on guitar.[11]
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin announced on October 26, 2020 the Rocky Horror Show Musical Livestream with Tim Curry reprising the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter on October 31, 2020. Chase was listed as a musical performer alongside The Dresden Dolls, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and more.[12]
