The Kara-Balta (Kyrgyz: Карабалта) is a river of Jayyl District, northern Kyrgyzstan. It is a tributary of the Ak-Suu, itself a tributary of the Chu.[1][2] and originates in the Sosnovka Gorge, flowing through the Chuy Valley from south to north.[3] It is 133 kilometres (83 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 577 square kilometres (223 sq mi).[1]
