Release

The film opened in September 2000 to mixed reviews, with a critic from BBthots.com stating "the first half, with its racy screenplay, high-tech gadgetry and clever ideas, moves surprisingly fast and keeps us entertained", but "the second half is so full of tired cliches and overwrought sentiments".[4] Likewise, The Hindu wrote the film "begins with engrossing and sophisticated action from the word `go' which continues till the end of the first half, but action tapers into melodrama and tedium, especially in the last few scenes".[5] The film did not perform well commercially at the box office.[6]
