Kyle Thomson
Kyle Thomson (born 14 January 1996) is an American footballer, who last played for Greenock Morton. He is a midfielder who came through college football with Loyola Ramblers.

His father is Dougie Thomson, the Scottish bassist, who was formerly of The Alan Bown Set & Supertramp. His uncle is the Scottish songwriter/singer, Ali Thomson.
Club career
Born in Illinois, Thomson started playing with Chicago youth side Sockers F.C. before moving to university side Loyola Ramblers in 2014 where he played every game for three successive seasons.[1]
He then played two seasons in the Premier Development League where was a key player for the Ocean City Nor'easters in their run to the PDL Final Four in 2016 and then helped the Michigan Bucks win a league-record 14th division title in 2017 before returning briefly to Loyola.[2]
Moving abroad
Thomson had a trial with then Football League Championship side Leicester City.[1]
In 2018, Thomson signed with Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.[3] He made his senior debut in a Scottish Challenge Cup defeat against Dumbarton.[4] Thomson was released in November 2018 after failing to play in any league fixtures for Morton.[5]
