Kyoto University of the Arts

Kyoto University of the Arts by Uryuyama-gakuen Group (京都芸術大学, Uryuyama-gakuen Kyōto geijutsu daigaku) is a private university in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1934. It was chartered as a junior college in 1977 and became a four-year college in 1991 as Kyoto University of Art and Design. The name of the university was changed to Kyoto University of the Arts in 2020.

The university retains many distinguished visual and performing artists as regular faculty and guest lecturers. Since 2004, the university's International Research Center for the Arts (IRCA) has welcomed guest artists from the Americas, Europe, and Japan.[1]
