Lajos Hartmann

Lajos Hartmann (born 11 October 1947 in Győr, Hungary) was a Hungarian international football referee.[1]

Career

He officiated 5 international matches and was member of FIFA in 1984–1994. He attributed a EURO 1988 qualifying match, a 1990 World Cup qualifying match[2] and others were in friendly matches includes Four Nations Tournament 1988 Semi final match played between Germany-Sweden (1:1 2-4 p). He also refereed a match in U21 EURO 1992.

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League (2), UEFA Cup (11) and Cup Winners Cup (2).[3] He refereed 196 Hungarian football league (Nemzeti Bajnokság I) matches in 1980–1994 and 1993–94 Magyar Kupa Final. In 1993 he was invited by company of István Vad to Qatar to officiate Qatar Stars League (Qatar Premier Leagu). He refereed 10 matches. In 1994, DebrecenVasas Hungarian championship match was abandoned by him because an object was thrown to his linesman Sándor Márton from the stand.[4][5] Due to provocations of hungarian media about his interruption decision of this match, he had to finish active refereeing career.
