Laungi Bhuiyan

Laungi Bhuiyan is an Indian farmer from Kothilawa in Lahthua area of Gaya, India known for carving out a 3-km-long canal for rainwater conveyance from a nearby hills which is used in the fields of Kothilawa, Lahthua area of Gaya.[1]

He used to feed cattle in a jungle, and subsequently carved out a canal that reportedly took him thirty years to complete the work.[2][3]
