Career
Born in 1970, Lee studied architecture at Yonsei University. He was assistant director to Bong Joon-ho for Memories of Murder (2003) and wrote scripts for a long period of time. His script for his directorial feature debut horror film Possessed (2009) was the most talked-about script in the local film industry due to its unique idea and well-conceived plot. The film won critical praise but stumbled at the box office. His second feature Architecture 101 (2012) "captured viewers' attention and earned critical plaudits with its restrained style and well drawn characters."[2][3][4][5]
