Les Strong

Leslie Strong (born 3 July 1953) is a former professional association footballer who played at left back. He spent the majority of his career at Fulham, where he began as a youth player in 1969,under the guidance of World Cup winner George Cohen,making 427 appearances, including 373 in the league,putting him 10th in Fulham’s all time appearance list.Strong missed the 1975 FA Cup Final against West Ham United through injury,after being ever present in a 57 game season.He was made club captain in 1981 by Malcolm Macdonald,successfully leading them to promotion in his first full season as skipper.He had a short spell at Brentford on loan and spent single seasons at Crystal Palace and Rochdale at the end of his career. He retired in 1985.[2] He subsequently managed the Anguillan national team and club team Little Black river in Mauritius,winning the Mauritian cup,thus qualifying for the African cup winners cup,for the first time. From 2001-present,he has been a popular match day host at Fulham.
