Information
The machine combines water, flour, tomato sauce, and fresh ingredients to make a pizza in approximately three minutes. It includes windows so customers can watch the pizza as it is made.[4] The pizza is cooked in an infrared oven.[5] The machine is made to create 100 pizzas before it needs to be refilled with its ingredients.[6]
History
The pizza-maker vending machine was invented by Claudio Torghele, inventor of the category of fresh pizza making vending machines. He started development in the mid-1990s, at the time, he was working on a pasta machine. Originally trying to create a frozen to ready-to-eat machine, he transitioned to fresh-from-scratch, which resulted in a working prototype by 2003, backed by the Dutch A1 Concepts. The machines are made in Northern Italy. Later that year, test marketing began in Germany under the auspices of Unilever. Roll out started in 2009, distributed by A1 Concepts. The machines spread over Europe, and especially through Italy. In 2012, distribution started into the U.S. Let's Pizza entered the South Korean market in 2015.[7][8][9][10][2][3]
