Linda Menghetti Dempsey is a government affairs executive and lawyer. [1]

CF Industries, Vice President, Public Affairs (2020-present)

In February 2020, Dempsey was hired by U.S. Manufacturer CF Industries, a major producer of nitrogen fertilizers and hydrogen.[2] [3]

National Association of Manufacturers, Vice President (2012-2019)

From 2012 to February 2020, Menghetti was Vice President, International Economic Affairs, of the National Association of Manufacturers in Washington, D.C..[4]

Emergency Committee for American Trade, Vice President (2000-2012)

Menghetti previously served as Vice President at the former Emergency Committee for American Trade (ECAT), a former business association focused on expanding U.S. trade and investment.

Minority Counsel (Democratic) at the Senate Finance Committee (1996-2000)

Prior to joining ECAT, Menghetti was Chief Democratic (Minority) Trade Counsel (September–December 2000) and Minority Trade Counsel (September 1996-September 2000) for the Senate Finance Committee, working on the staff of Daniel Patrick Moynihan.[5][6][7] In this capacity, Menghetti worked to forward legislation according Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China, the Trade and Development Act of 2000, the Foreign Sales Corporation Repeal and Extraterritorial Income Act of 2000, renewal of the Trade Adjustment Assistance and Generalized System of Preferences programs. Menghetti was one of the principal staff drafters of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

International Affairs Fellow for Senator Bill Bradley (1995-1996)

In 1995-1996, Menghetti was an International Affairs Fellow for Senator Bill Bradley, on a fellowship from the Council on Foreign Relations[8]

Earlier Career and Education

Menghetti worked at law firms in Washington, D.C. after receiving her J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the International Tax & Business Lawyer. Menghetti had previously graduated from The Pennsylvania State University.
