Lisa M. Given

Lisa Mae Given is a Canadian-Australian information studies academic. She is currently Associate Dean, Research and Development, for the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design at Swinburne University of Technology.[1]

Academic career

After a B.A. Hons in English, a B.Ed. and an MLIS from University of Western Ontario, Given completed a PhD entitled The social construction of the 'mature student' identity : effects and implications for academic information behaviours, also from UWO.[2] Given held multiple roles at University of Alberta and Charles Sturt University before moving to Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.[3]

Given served as President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) from 2017 to 2018.[4]
