April 8, 1989 Mario Emanuele Maiolini Mario Emanuele Maiolini is Ambassador of Italy (ar) In his career he was Deputy Governor of Southern Iraq during the Provisional Government of the Coalition (2003 - 2004), Ambassador of Italy in Saudi Arabia (1989-1994), in Mexico (1994-1998), Ambassador Permanent Representative of Italy to the Conference for the Disarmament of Geneva (2000 - 2003), President of the Disarmament Commission of the General Assembly of the United Nations (2002 - 2003) and Director General for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999-2000). He served in the Italian Embassy in Washington, Syria, Lebanon and Switzerland. He is a member of the Circle of Diplomatic Studies. He graduated in International Law at the Faculty of Political Science in Rome and received a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York.
