- February 24: A suicide bomber Saturday blew himself up near a security post in Kabul, killing at least three people and wounding several others.[3]
- March 9: A suicide bomber has blown himself up in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing at least seven people, according to officials. The attack was apparently intended to hit crowds gathered to commemorate the death of Abdul Ali Mazari, a political leader from the mainly Shiite Hazara minority.[4]

- June 4: A suicide bomber detonated his explosives targeting a gathering of Afghanistan's top clerics in Kabul, killing at least 14 people and wounding 19. Shortly afterwards, a magnetic bomb attached to a police car exploded and as a result three people were wounded, the Islamic State Khorasan province claimed responsibility.[8][9][10]
- June 11: 17 people were killed and 40 others were seriously injured after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at an Afghan ministry in Kabul, the Islamic State Khorasan province claimed responsibility .[11][12]
- July 15: A suicide bomber detonated near a government ministry in Kabul, killing eight people and wounding 17 others the Islamic State's Khorasan province claimed responsibility.[13][14]
- July 22: 23 people, including an AFP driver, were killed and 107 others injured in a suicide bombing near Kabul International Airport as scores of people were leaving the airport after welcoming home Afghan Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum from exile, Islamic State Khorasan Province claimed responsibility.[15]
- August 13: A suicide bomber detonated outside an Afghan election office killing one and injuring another person, the Taliban is suspected for the attack.[16]
- August 15: August 2018 Kabul suicide bombing: A suicide bombing in an educative academy of Kabul left at least 48 killed and 67 injured the Islamic State Khorasan province did the attack.[17][18][19]
- September 5: 26 people were killed and 91 were injured in suicide blasts targeting a Kabul Wrestling club and emergency teams, two journalists were among the dead, the Islamic State Khorasan Province claimed responsibility for the bombing.[20][21][22][23]
- September 9: A suicide bomber on a motorbike blew himself up near a group of people commemorating the death anniversary of a famed resistance leader in Kabul on Sunday, killing at least seven people and injuring an additional 25, officials said,the Islamic State Khorasan Province claimed responsibility for the attack.[24][25]
- November 20: A suicide bomb attack on a gathering of religious scholars in the Afghan Kabul, has killed at least 43 people and injuring 83.
- December 24: A suicide and gun attack on a Kabul government compound killed at least 43 people and at least 10 people were wounded, interior ministry spokesman Najib Danish said. Most of the victims were civilians. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.[26][27]

- May 12: At 10 AM, three gunmen wearing police uniforms carried out a mass shooting in the maternity ward of a hospital in Kabul. The hospital is located in the predominately Shi'ite Hazara neighborhood of Dashte Barchi and is assisted by Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) personnel.[28] The attackers killed 24 people and injured another 16.[29][30][31]
- May 30: A private bus carrying 15 employees of the Khurshid TV news station was hit by a road bomb in Kabul, killing an economic reporter, Mir Wahed Shah, a technician, Shafiq Amiri, and wounding seven other people.[32][33] The United States, the European Union, and NATO condemned the attack.[32]
- June 5: An hour-long gunbattle erupted in Kabul’s Gul Dara district when insurgents attacked a police checkpoint, killing three police officers.[34]
- June 12: A Sunni mosque in Kabul was bombed, killing four people and injuring another eight.[35] On 17 June, twelve security forces members were killed and five were wounded during a Taliban attack in Aqcha District, Jowzjan Province. Four soldiers were taken hostage in the attack, and five Taliban militants killed.[36]
- July 14: Five civilians were killed and another 11 wounded in Kabul when their car hit a suspected Taliban roadside bomb.[37]
- July 19: Two soldiers were killed after Taliban gunmen opened fire on them while they were traveling on a motorcycle in Kabul.[38]
- August 19: A magnetic mine killed one and injured another in Kabul.[39] Also, a rocket attack left at least 3 people dead and another 16 were injured in Kabul.[40]
- September 8: One Taliban member was killed and another two were wounded after they attacked security forces in Kabul Province.[41]
- September 9: At least 10 people were killed and another 16 were injured in a Kabul bombing.[42]
- September 16: A member of the Afghan National Directorate of Security was shot dead and his driver was injured in Kabul.[43]
- September 21: One child was killed and another 3 people were injured after two mines exploded in Kabul.[44]

- October 26: At least 3 people were injured in a magnetic mine explosion in Kabul.[45]
- October 27: A blast by a magnetic mine left at least 3 people dead and at least 10 injured in Kabul.[46]

- November 7: A bomb attached to the vehicle of former TOLO TV presenter Yama Siawash exploded early Saturday, killing the journalist and two other civilians while they were inside the car.[47]
- November 21: 23 rockets hits Kabul's commercial area, parks, shopping areare where as many as 8 people died and more than 30 were injured.[48]

Afghan officials say Taliban fighters have attacked a checkpoint in the northern province of Jawzjan, killing 12 security force members.
