Lucas Braathen

Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (born 19 April 2000) is a Norwegian alpine skier from Hokksund. He represents the sports club Bærums SK.[1]

Lucas Braathen is the son of a Norwegian father and a Brazilian Mother. His middle name ‚Pinheiro‘ is Brazilian for pine tree, paying tribute to his mother and his Brazilian heritage.

Career

At the 2019 Junior World Championships he finished sixth and eleventh, followed by a silver medal in super-G and a bronze medal in the combined event at the 2019 Junior World Championships. He made his FIS Alpine Ski World Cup debut in December 2018 in Val d'Isere, where he also collected his first World Cup points with a 26th-place finish.[1] He won his first race during the 2020–21 season, winning Giant slalom in Sölden, it was also his first podium.
