Mali Školj

Mali Školj is uninhabited island in the Bay of Mali Ston, located between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Veliki Školj is one of two Bosnia and Herzegovina's islands in the Adriatic Sea. The other island is Veliki Školj.

The temporary regime of the sea border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. the two municipalities in those countries, both predominantly Croat, was determined in 1999. The Neum Agreement on the temporary border was signed by Franjo Tuđman and Alija Izetbegović. It has never been ratified due to controversy. The reason is that the top of the Klek peninsula and Veliki and Mali Školj in the Mali Ston Bay are attributed to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of a 1974 cadastral forgery. Such a border was a big omission in the proposal of the negotiating team of Croatia. The Bosniak side adheres to this non-ratified document,[1] using forgery as a basis for further appropriation of the Croatian coast and obstructing any land connection between the territories of the Republic of Croatia as the Pelješac Bridge, and encouraged by compromised arbitration on Savudrija Bay.[2]
