Mantu Debnath

Mantu Debnath (also spelt as Montu Debnath) is an Indian gymnast from Agartala, Tripura.[1][2] He won gold medals at national level competition.[1] He became the first Indian gymnast to win an international competition in Russia in 1969.[3][4] He won the Arjuna Award in 1975 for his contributions in gymnastics.[1][5][6] He is the second Indian Arjuna awardee for gymnastics after Sham Lal.[6][5] And he is also the first Arjuna awardee from Tripura.[1][4] He was trained by Dalip Singh.[5]
