Maria Zambon

Maria Zambon FMedSci FRCPath, is a British virologist, Director of Reference Microbiology for Public Health England, and a professor.

Zambon earned a PhD on "the mechanism of action of amantadine and led directly to the identification of a novel class of viral proteins, viral ion channels (M2 protein)".[1]

In 2011, she was elected a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.[2] She is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.[3]

Zambon is one of the 23 attendees of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage).[4]
