Career
Toronto FC II
A product of the Toronto FC Academy, Srbely played with the club's Premier Development League side in 2016 before moving to their United Soccer League side in 2017, signing his first professional contract on March 8, 2017.[1]
He made his professional debut on August 13, 2017 in a 3-1 loss to Bethlehem Steel, coming on as a 68th minute midfield substitute for Aikim Andrews. He received his first professional start on August 19, 2017 away against the Richmond Kickers.
Srbely played for Toronto FC II in the USL Championship during 2018 season at the age of 19, during which he emerged as one of the team's brightest young attacking midfielders. He was second in matches played (29) and logged the third most minutes on the team (2,078).[2] As the highest scoring midfielder on the team, he finished fourth on the team in goals (3), first in assists (3), first in shots (40) and first on the team (for players logging >300 minutes) in net plus/minus per 90 minutes (0.91){2}. He was awarded USL First Team of the Week honours for his performance (1 G, 1 A) in leading Toronto FC II to its first victory of the season, a 2-0 result in Nashville.[3]
The following year in 2019, despite missing over a third of the season (10 of 28 games) with injury, he finished with the most assists on the team (5) and tied for first in the league with assists (5) for all attacking midfielders.[4] He also finished second in the league in goals (4) and goals per match (0.22) from the attacking midfield position.[5] He received First Team of the Week honors three (3) times (Week 11,12, 21)[6] during the 2019 season and had the highest average player performance rating for Toronto FC II (7.05),[7] tying him for 12th best overall player rating in the league in 2019.[8]
Srbely was re-signed by Toronto FC II on June 29, 2020.[9] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Toronto FC II would withdraw from the 2020 USL League One season, and in September 2020, Srbely would be loaned to Danish 2nd Division club Thisted FC until the end of the 2020 season.[10] He made five appearances with Thisted FC before their season was postponed in Denmark due to COVID-19 concerns in the North Jutland region of Denmark in early November of 2020, with option not exercised for the 2021 season.[11]
