Melissa Blake
Melissa Blake is a Canadian politician, former mayor of Wood Buffalo, Alberta. The region's largest community is Fort McMurray. Wood Buffalo is best known as home to the Athabasca Oil Sands.

First elected as mayor in 2004, Blake was re-elected to her fourth term as mayor in the municipal election of October 2013, with over two-thirds of the vote.[1] Blake served two terms as a municipal councillor, beginning in 1998, prior to running for mayor in 2004.[2]
Blake announced in August 2016 her fourth term as mayor would be her final and would not campaign for reelection in the 2017 municipal election.[3] In October 2017, she told the Fort McMurray Today she would not be pursuing a political career in the near future.[4] She was succeeded by Don Scott.
She is of Métis background, and is originally from Quebec.[5] She was educated at Keyano College and Athabasca University.[5]
