Mie Shimizu

Mie Shimizu (Japanese: 清 水 美 映; born January 1975) is a Japanese former long track speed skater, who was active between 1990 and 1998.[1]

As a junior she participated at the 1991, 1993 and 1994 World Junior Speed Skating Championships. After finishing second in 1993 she became overall world champion the year later in 1994. At elite level Shimizu represented her nation at the 1996 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in the 1500 metres event, finishing 5th.[2] She also competed at other international competitions, including at ISU Speed Skating World Cups.[2]
