Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (1976) is the government body for sustainable and broad based economic growth contributing to employment generation and poverty reduction in Nepal.[1][2]

To create policy environment and institutional strength for promoting scientific research, innovation and capacity building to achieve sustainable practices and technologies, to minimize risks on life support systems, thus contributing to sustainable development.[3]
