Miyasi Sandeepani

Miyasi Sandeepani Kristhombu (born 25 February 1994 as මියැසි සන්දීපනී), popularly as Miyasi Sandeepani, is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema and television as well as a model.[1][2] She is best known for the her role "Meenakshi" in television serial Raavana 2.

Personal life

Sandeepani was born on 25 February 1994 in Weligama as the youngest child of the family. Her father is Siril Kristhombu is a businessman and mother Padma Sriyani worked at a ticketing agency abroad. She completed education from Hillwood College, Kandy. She has one elder brother, Sajeewa Kalpitha and one elder sister, Kaveena Miyulasi.[3]

Even though she was selected for university, she did not chose that pathway. However, later she completed Business Management and Human Resource degree.[3] She also worked in a UK travel company called ‘Carlton Leisure’ for one year.

Career

Before entering acting, Sandeepani worked as a model since 2014 and several music videos and commercial advertisements since 2015.[1][4] Then he attended drama classes conducted by award-winning dramatist Mahendra Perera.[2] In 2015, she made her first music video appearance in the song ‘’Oba Nathi Duka’’ sung by Rahal Alwis.

She made her maiden teledrama appearance with the serial Samanalun Piyambai with a supportive role as ‘Divyanjali’. Then she continued to act in several popular serials such as Wassanaye Premaya, Modara Bambaru, Raavana 2, Vimansa, Crime Scene.[3] In 2015, she entered cinema with the romantic movie Me Wage Adarayak directed by Chandran Rutnam as the best friend of lead actress.[2] In 2016, she worked in the music video Oya Danne Nathi sung by newcomer Shalinda Fernando.[5]

In 2017, she acted in the music video Marunu Hithe sung by Anushka Udana.[6] In the same year, she acted in the music video Pilithurak sung by newcomer Lakshitha Gajanayake.[7] In 2020, she joined another Wasthi production, titled Mahagedara.[8]
