Mona Shourie Kapoor

Mona Shourie Kapoor (3 February 1964 – 25 March 2012) was the daughter of Sattee Shourie and the first wife of Bollywood film producer, Boney Kapoor.[1] She has a son, Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and daughter Anshula Kapoor.

Life

Mona Shourie Kapoor was born in Delhi, India on 3 February 1964. She was married to Boney Kapoor from 1983 to 1996 and had two children, son Arjun Kapoor and daughter Anshula.[2][3] Arjun is an actor who made his acting debut with the 2012 film, Ishaqzaade. Anshula, after graduating from École Mondiale World School went to the Barnard College of Columbia University in New York and was working with Google India.

After splitting from Boney Kapoor in 1996, Mona continued to live with her in-laws. She lived there with her two children until her death on 25 March 2012. Mona had shared most of her love with Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor for 29 years.

Mona became famous in the industry after her marriage with Boney Kapoor, his son Arjun Kapoor and Boney' s marriage with Sridevi. Anil Kapoor was her brother in law. At the time of 1980-1990's.

Career

Mona Kapoor was the CEO of Future Studios, the largest ready-to-shoot, fully furnished, indoor shooting studio in Mumbai.[4] Mona had a multi-faceted career; she successfully handled the manpower for 'Business Aids' & 'Machine Exports', in which she was a partner. As a director of FCL, she was the production co-ordinator for the films Sheesha (cast: Mithun Chakraborty, Munmun Sen and Mallika Sarabhai) & Farishtey (cast: Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Sridevi and Rajnikanth). Mona also served as a Jury Member of the Indian Telly Awards in 2005.

Mona Kapoor was an expertise in her career business aids and exports as she CEO(Chief Executive) Of future studios.She was an expert in business matters. She also knew many types of Business.

Producer

She produced successful television shows like Hera Pheri (on Star Plus featuring Shekhar Suman, Reema Lagoo and Tanaaz Curim), Yug (on Doordarshan), Wilayatee Babu (on Doordarshan) and Kaise Kahoon ( TV). Yug was widely acclaimed by both viewers as well as the media and sponsors. This mega serial, with the backdrop of the independence struggle and boasting of an impressive star cast of the likes of Hema Malini, Dara Singh, Javed Khan, Neena Gupta, Mukesh Khanna, Shahbaz Khan, Pankaj Dheer has been receiving several re-telecast requests in various regional languages.

Business

She was a successful businesswoman and a future entrepreneur.

Channels

Channels like Doordarshan came into popular from 1980's and 1990 and Star Plus from 2005 where she had produced television shows.

Family Support

She was supported by her son Arjun Kapoor and Daughter Anshula for 29 years. Arjun was very close to his mother for a very long time. Kapoor has also produced many television shows in 1980s. In 2018, Arjun said that he and his sister Anshula did not touch her mom's room for six years after her death in 2012 and that he misses his mother. In her son Arjun Kapoor's various films

Death

Kapoor died due to multiple organ failure after battling with cancer and hypertension on 25 March 2012.[5][6]
