Monochroa sperata

Monochroa sperata is a moth of the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Peter Huemer and Ole Karsholt in 2010. It is found in the south-western Alps of France and Italy.[1][2]

Etymology

The species name is derived from Latin sperata (meaning hoped for), since the excursions to the type-locality were planned with the hope of finding new endemic species.[3]
