Namrata Sawhney

Namrata Sawhney (Namratā Sāhanī, is an Indian actress, voice actress and singer, who speaks Hindi, English & Punjabi . Namrata is a veteran of the voicing/dubbing industry. She has a theatre background but did not take any professional training for dubbing and voicing. She is considered to be the most apt Hindi voice-over artist for Indian actress, Sridevi, in her Tamil films and Manisha Koirala for many of her Hindi feature films like Dushmani, Calcutta Mail, Agnisakshi, Taliban, Jai Hind, Anokha Andaz and Anmol. Namrata is the voice of Jasmine (Hindi ) in Disney's Alladin. She has also dubbed for Kate Winslet for the Hindi dubbed versions of Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, The mountain between us etc.[1] She also dubbed for Juhi Chawla in some Kurkure commercials.[2]

Dubbing career

Kissa Tota Maina was her very first program, which was a radio show and soon Sawhney got into voice-acting and also dubbing. From a child voice to the lead voice, it's been around 30 years, since she's been doing this. She has enjoyed her job for being a voice artist. She gave the Hindi dubbing voice to Kate Winslet's role as Rose DeWitt Bukater/Dawson in Titanic for the cinema release, the home media releases and for UTV television airings, Princess Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin when it was dubbed in 1994, and she's considered to be the official Hindi dub-over artist for Sridevi in her Tamil films. She also gave voices to Radio channel promos for Indian Idol, and also dubbed Malini Sharma in Raaz and Manisha Koirala in Dushmani.
