Nathassia

Nathassia Devine is a Dutch-born singer, songwriter and electronic music artist currently residing in London, UK. In April 2016, Nathassia was the first electronic music artist to perform at the Luxor Temple in Egypt[1] at the Nefertiti International Fashion Festival.[2] In August 2016, Nathassia was featured on the Channel 4 TV show The Casting Couch.[3]

Early life

Born and raised in Gouda, Netherlands with a Dutch father and Indian mother, who was raised in Suriname, South America, she grew up absorbing many multicultural musical influences. In an interview on Surinamese TV Nathassia said that she first started practicing her stage performance at age two when her father brought home an old microphone from a coach for her to play with.

Music career

As part of her studies International Music Management in Haarlem, she moved to London to gain experience in the music business. Having tasted global success as a featured artist including A List on UK & Dutch national radio[4] with the likes of Soulcast & Russia's electronic duo Moonbeam. After completing her studies in The Netherlands, she set up her recording studio's in south London solely to write and record her debut album.

Her first successful single was "Turning Headz" and Nathassia's debut studio album, Light Of The World was released on the 30th of March 2017 by Inter-dimensional Recordings. Nathassia co-produced the album with underground electronic music producers including British Dubstep producer Stenchman and chose to write several songs with writer/producer Bruce Elliott-Smith.[5] The first two singles that were released from the album including "Contagious", gained support from the likes of e.g. Eddy Temple Morris, BBC 6, Kiss and Mixmag.[5]

In May 2017, Nathassia commenced her first national UK tour called Feel The Future Now.

In February 2018, Nathassia launched Nathassia TV, and the first episode of The Nathassia Devine Show.

On 21 June 2018, Nathassia released her second album Devine Sunrise produced with downtempo artist/DJ Pete Ardron. The album reached the Top 5 in the UK iTunes Album Chart (Electronic).[6] The debut single released from the album "Is Everybody Searching" reached the number 10 position in the UK pop chart.[7]

Her single “Goddess”, mixed by James F Reynolds and written and co-Produced by Nathassia, was released on 19 April 2019 by ArchangelUK and reached the Top 10 in the UK Club Charts & Commercial Pop.[8]

During quarantine in 2020, she began a radio show called "Goddess Is A DJ" on the EDM Festival Channel on di.fm.
