MNG-HA as a healthcare hub in Saudi Arabia, and through its initiatives, has an impact well beyond KSA and the region.
Despite its widespread geographic locations across Saudi Arabia, the organization carried out one of the largest, and highly integrated deployment of a centralized Electronic Medical Record [EMR] system. The centralized and paperless EMR system has allowed MNG-HA to unify the patient records and achieve continuity of documents across all M0G-HA facilities.
There are currently more MNG-HA specialist hospitals and health care centers to meet the increased demand for health while maintaining the focus on delivering effective, efficient, safe and integrated care to its patients. MNG-HA proves to be a very resilient health system, by going through a challenging crisis of MERS-COV outbreak. This experience led to a very successful and pioneering transformation of its patient flow, infection control, and emergency care.

Healthcare Technologies
Centralized Electronic Medical Record Across All M0GHA’s Facilities To achieve continuity of clinical documentation, covering all levels of healthcare services, MNGHA has implemented a centralized Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This information technology solution has facilitated the implementation of a unified medical record across all MNGHA’s healthcare facilities. The solution has also allowed MNGHA’s healthcare environments to be paperless, as all clinical documentations are stored in the EMR system. Besides the practicality advantage, the data obtained through digital documentation are fueling MNGHA’s enterprise analytics solution, which significantly assists in many quality improvement areas. This high-level of EMR implementation has been acknowledged by the Health information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) by granting the EMRAM Stage 6 Inpatient and Outpatient award.
Filmless Radiology Environment
To enhance the work processes in the radiology services, M0GHA has implemented a fully integrated Picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Besides increasing the efficiency in the radiology services, this system enables radiology images to be shared between M0GHA facilities, significantly reducing unnecessary exams when patients move between MNGHA’s facilities. M0GHA’s King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh was the first site in the world to be granted the Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM) Stage 6 award, acknowledging the advanced level of PACS implementation that the organization has.
Automated Laboratory Medicine Workplace
All Laboratory Medicine services within MNGHA are automated through a centralized Laboratory Information System (LIS). By interfacing laboratory equipment with the LIS, M0GHA is able to ensure patient safety, by documenting accurate readings, while considerably reducing operation cost, by eliminating manual documentation.
Patient Portal / Mobile APP
To achieve high level of patient engagement, MNGHA has developed a mobile application that allowed patients to access their clinical data. The mobile application also enables many of MNGHA’s services to patients through their smart phones. Services such as requesting appointment, viewing test results and much more. MNGHA has also developed a mobile application for physicians, so they can access the medical records of their patients in a fast and practical manner.
