National High School, Patiala
National High School, commonly referred as NHS, is an English medium private school located in Old Lal Bagh, Patiala (Punjab). Founded in 1963 with the initiative of Late Professor Nirmal Singh Azad, the school aims at providing best education to the students which are country's future. [1][2] The school is from pre-nursery to class 10th and affiliated to Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), SAS Nagar.
History
The school was established in 1963. It is affiliated to Punjab School Education Board, SAS Nagar. Children are schooled from pre-nursery to class 10th. In January 2003, the 5th Punjab NCC Army Battalion held an arms exhibition at the school to the mark the starting of National Cadet Corps (NCC) curriculum.[3] The schools is located in Old Lal Bagh, Dharampura Bazar, in Patiala city in the state of Punjab (India).
Motto and Aim
The motto of school is 'Knowledge is Power'. The school believes that knowledge is the most important tool of a person and is required for all round development. The aim of school is to harmoniously develop moral and intellectual qualities in students.
Admissions and Courses
The school admits students from all races without any discrimination as it believes that every person is born free and has right to education. The curriculum is based on the guidelines set by the Punjab School Education Board. The medium of instruction in the school is English. The students are taught three languages which are English, Punjabi and Hindi. The schools offers subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Science, Health and Physical Education, Agriculture, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Drawing etc.
