Navapur Taluka

Vadade Navapur Taluka is a taluka in Nandurbar District of Maharashtra, India.[1] Its headquarters is in the municipality of Navapur. Some of the area is hilly and the habitat of scheduled tribes.[2] The taluka covers an area of 976.68 square kilometres (377.10 sq mi).

Economy

Navapur have a two industrial area one is MIDC (maharashtra industrial development corporation) area and another is chokhawala industrial area, MIDC is just 5 kilometers from navapur and located east side of navapur city and chokhawala industrial area is 5-6 kilometers from navapur and located west of navapur and 1 kilometer from Gujarat state and 0 kilometer from navapur RTO chekpost. In navapur industrial area have textile mills, oil mills, dranage pipe factory, rice mill, and such more, for navapur MIDC area nearest railway Station is kolde station and just 1 kilometer from MIDC office and kolde station have 2 platform and linked to national highway 6 (53 new number) and Asian highway 46, from navapur MIDC area is very nearest. Now this area railway line have double line and this area national highway 6 is under construction for four lane - six lane work.navapur city now have two railway Station one is navapur railway Station and located west side of city and one is kolde railway Station and located east side of city and navapur and kolde station connect with national highway 6.

Navapur Taluka is an agricultural and farming area. The area is known for its pulses and a variety of red chili powder. It is also known for its poultry farms. The first poultry farm was started by Shri Hasubhai Desai as Desai Poultry Farm at Uchchhal. Then many people came into this business and this industry has flourished like anything. The first case of avian flu in India was detected in Navapur in 2006.[3][4]

There are other industries in the taluka, notably agro-based industries such as a sugar factory and a tuvar daal mill, as well as other food processing plants. The Golden fruit and vegetable company[G.F.C]was started by Abdul Jalil Abdul Gafur Shaikh, on 20 May 1994. At A.P.M.C Navapur, The vegetable and fruit supplied to many states, e.g. Gujarat, Mp and Up from Navapur market, Navapur is famous for fresh vegetables and fruits.

It was earlier on the Mughal trade route going to Agra and a few ruins of the Serai and Caravan sentry forts still survive. It is a tribal area and many tribal members go to Gujarat during the off season to work there as labourers in its vast industrial base.new textile industries area aamlan is 10 km from navapur city

The large lake/reservoir impounded by the dam nearby provides some fishing.

Place of interest

The large Ukai Dam is near the town of Navapur.

Amongst the temples in the areas are the Rokadia Hanumaan at Wankipada bridge, Dutt mandir and Rang Avdhoot Paduka Mandir near the Juni post office, Ramji Mandir in Sardar Chawk, Aashapuri Mandir in Shroff Falia, Sai Baba temple in the Prabhakar colony and Shabri Mata Mandir, located in Subir village.

Mission tekdi and Tulsyo dunger are place of interest for many.
