Political career

Joining the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Klarić ran for mayor of Šibenik in the early election for the city assembly, which took place on 16 April 2004, and won, officially taking the mayor role on 12 May the same year.

In the May 2009 election,[5] she lost in the second round to SDP-candidate Ante Županović, who became the next mayor.[6] After that, she withdraws from politics.

She also served as a member of the Croatian Parliament representing the 9th electoral district between January 2008 to December 2011, during two HDZ prime ministers.[4]
