Nepalese Space Research Association

Nepalese Space Research Association (NESRA) is a Nepali space research organization based in Nepal established in 2018 to bring a common platform among Nepali researchers to bring the benefits of space to Nepal.[1] NESRA on one hand is focused on bringing researchers to work on different projects to develop new innovations while on the other hand it is building a community of young individuals and students interested in the field of space.[2][3][4][5]

History

Nepalese Space Research Association was established in 2018 with motto to bring benefits of space to Nepal.[6]

Mission

To transform Nepal into a space fairing nation. Expand our wide network of students, young professionals, industry, academia, and governmental organizations who are interested in the emerging global space sector. Collaborate with international organizations to facilitate their outreach programs and help young students and professionals in Nepal pursue a career in the space sector. Facilitate the use and integration of space technology with other sectors in Nepal, e.g. Disaster preparedness and mitigation, survey department, use of space technology to inspire the next generation. Work with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in order to foster a productive environment for the space industry to flourish in Nepal.[7]
