New Galala

New Galala, officially New Galala City, is a planned city in northwest Egypt. It will lie on Northern Galala Plateau on the western side of the Gulf of Suez.[1] The city represents one of several ambitious urban development projects of the government. With the help of which the problem of the congestion of the existing cities is to be solved.

The city will include luxury and medium and middle income housing, touristic resorts, a water park, a Phosphate fertilizers factory and a university (Galala University). The city will also include Egypts first Olympic village. Construction of the city started in 2015 and will be implemented in 3 phases. The city will be connected to Cairo and other locations by a newly build highway.[2][3]
