History

New Senior was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Drive Shack Inc., formerly Newcastle Investment Corp, on May 17, 2012.[1] On November 6, 2014, New Senior was spun off from Drive Shack Inc. and listed on the NYSE under the symbol “SNR.”

Through December 31, 2018, New Senior was externally managed and advised by an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group LLC. New Senior internalized its management structure effective January 1, 2019 and is now a self-managed company.

In February 2020,New Senior completed the sale of all of its 28 assisted living/memory care properties for a gross sales price of $385 million. Following the sale, New Senior has a portfolio of 102 Independent Living properties and 1 triple net leased property.[2]
