Niamh Algar

Niamh Algar is an Irish actress known for her roles in MotherFatherSon, Raised by Wolves, and Pure. In 2021, she will appear in Wrath of Man and Censor.

Early life and education

A native of Mullingar, she is the youngest of five children. Algar attended the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) where she studied design. She graduated from the Programme of Screen Acting at the Bow Street Academy in Dublin.[1][2][3]

She has appeared in Conor McMahon's From the Dark, Aoife Crehan's road trip movie The Last Right, Lorcan Finnegan's Without Name, Rose Cartwright's Pure,[4] the Michael Fassbender-produced Calm With Horses from first-time feature director Nick Rowland,[5][6] and as Tania in Desiree Akhavan's The Bisexual.[7]

She was named amongst the 2019 BAFTAs Breakthrough Brits.[8][9]

She played Dinah in Shane Meadows' The Virtues.[5][10] She has also appeared in MotherFatherSon, as Sue in the Ridley Scott directed American television series Raised by Wolves,[11][12] and as Amber in the 2019 British Channel 4 television series Pure.[1]

She has lived in London since 2016.
