Plot Overview: The Russian military participated directly in war with Tajikistan, which lasted six years. This film is not so much about the war itself, but about the relationship between DP Nikolai and Natasha. She was "the woman" he was searching for all his life, and found her only a few weeks before his next assignment in the war. Although he could withdraw from this trip, he does not do so as his love and moral choices are inextricably linked.
