Noorkhan Bazar

Noorkhan Bazar is a former Market area in the Old City, Hyderabad. Originally the place was known as Bazar-e-Noorulumara, because of the bazaar (market) and the Noorulumara graveyard nearby.

Noorkhan bazar is famous for Aziz Bagh. Aziz Bagh main building is owned by Aziz Jung’s two grandsons; Shamsuddin Ahmed and Zaheer Uddin Ahmed. Aziz Bagh was constructed in 1899 by Aziz Jung. http://www.azizbagh.com

Fatima Manzil, Narjis Gulshan, Jaleel Manzil, Yateem Khana and Noor Café as famous landmarks and is also home to upmarket Muslim residential houses in the old city. With decent roads and serene atmosphere, it is a decent place to live in. It is basically a Shiite area with various azakhanas.

Noor Khan Bazar is a great place to live, it is located to close to the Musi River. The area of Noor Khan Baazar is not more than 2 square Km. The good part about this area that it was on the crossroads of the Old City and the New City. The population of Noor Khan Baazar was very diverse where Sunni Muslims, Shia Muslims, Marwadis, Hindus are living there for last 50 years. In the 1950s this place was a residence to lawyer Sayyed Abul Razzak who as Bar at Law, he also used to run classes for new lawyers at his mansion and Mir Jamal Ali a renowned social worker.

The Mohallas around Noor Khan Bazar were DabirPura, Kattalguda, Purani haveli, Malakpet, Chanchalguda, Aza Khane Zehra.

Ahmed Villa (Owned by Syed Safdar Hussain, president of Groh-e-Hasnain and a well-known person specially acknowledged for his social activities), Fatima Manzil and Narjis Gulshan are two most famous residence in the heart of this area close to the roundabout.

Prominent places around Noorkhan Bazar, Babu Miya Dairy Farm, Masjid E Rahmania, Salarjung Musesum, Mahatma Gandhi Bus Terminal.

Another important place of 1970s time is Students Service Guild School, which had a good standard and was run by Mustafa Ahmed.
