Nosipho Dumisa

Nosipho Dumisa is a South African writer and director. She wrote and directed her first feature film, the crime thriller Nommer 37 (2014, in Afrikaans).[1] She also directed the Netflix show Blood and Water (2020).[2] She works with Gambit Films, which she co-founded.[3] She has also produced works, like the Afrikaans language soap opera Suidooster.[4]

Her works have been premiered at South by Southwest and have won international awards.[3]

Dumisa is Zulu, but learned Afrikaans in school.[4] Her works typically feature Cape Town, South Africa as a setting.[5][3]
