History

OBB Media was founded as OBB Pictures in 2016 by founder and CEO Michael D. Ratner[1] and co-founder and COO Scott Ratner with a focus on film, television and digital production.

In February 2018, OBB Pictures released Cold As Balls in conjunction with Laugh Out Loud Network. The series stars Kevin Hart as he interviews different athletes and celebrities while both interviewer and interviewee are sitting in cold tubs.[2] As of 2020, the series is in its third season and the first two seasons have accumulated more than 320 million views.[3]

In 2019, OBB produced Netflix's Historical Roasts,[2] an American comedy television series based on the Los Angeles live comedy show of the same name. Again in that same year, OBB Pictures rebranded as OBB Media expanding into new realms of content creation adding divisions in podcasting, branded content and social good.[2]

In Early 2020, OBB premiered a docu-series titled: Justin Bieber: Seasons. The 10-part series premiered two episodes weekly and sold for more than $20M.[4] The series received more than 32 million views on its first week of airing with YouTube announcing it as the company's highest rated premiere in their history.[5]

Later that year, OBB Media produced &Music, a documentary series featuring Ariana Grande, J Balvin and Ozzy Osbourne, among others.[6][7][8]

In April 2020, OBB began working on a new series for Fuse Media tentatively titled Unleashed. The series will follow Jimmy O. Yang as he meets with celebrities and their pets.[9]

In 2020, OBB's audio division, OBB Sound, announced the launch of a podcasts series featuring Blake Griffin titled “The Pursuit of Healthinesss” as well as season 2 and 3 of an entrepreneurship show with model Ashley Graham called “Pretty Big Deal”.[2]

Announced in June 2020, OBB will be involved with a four-part documentary series on YouTube called Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, following pop star Demi Lovato. The series will be directed by Michael D. Ratner and will be released on March 23, 2021.[10]
