Taxonomy

2005 taxonomy

The family Oleacinidae is classified within the informal group Sigmurethra, itself belonging to the clade Stylommatophora within the clade Eupulmonata (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).[3]

The family Oleacinidae consists of the following subfamilies (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005):

  • Oleacininae H. Adams & A. Adams, 1855 - synonyms: Polyphemidae Gistel, 1868 (inv.); Glandinidae Bourguignat, 1877; Streptostylini H. B. Baker, 1941
  • Euglandininae H. B. Baker, 1941[4]
  • Varicellinae H. B. Baker, 1941[5]

2010 taxonomy

Thompson (2010)[6] have redefined subfamilies in Spiraxidae and have moved Euglandininae and Streptostylinae as subfamilies of Spiraxidae.
