Olga Zhigina

Olga Zhigina also written as Olga Zjigina (Ольга Жигина; born September 1990) is a Kazakhstani former long track speed skater, who was active between 2001 and 2012.[1] Zhigina represented her nation at international competitions.

As a junior Zhigina became four times national champion, participated at the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 World Junior Speed Skating Championships. During the 2009-10 ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating event in Salt Lake City, she set a junior world record in the team pursuit with the Kazakhstani team. At elite level she won the gold medal at the 2012 Asian Speed Skating Championships in the 1500 metres event.[2] She also competed at other international competitions, including at ISU Speed Skating World Cups and 2011 Asian Winter Games.[2]

Between 2005 and 2012 she had a total of 25 starts at national championships. She became five times national champion and won furthermore four silver and four bronze medals at national championships.[2]
