Olivier Meslay

Meslay was born in Rabat, Morocco. He attended Université Paris-Sorbonne and Ecole du Louvre.

From 1993 to 2006 he served as curator of British, American, and Spanish paintings at the Musée du Louvre. A noted scholar Olivier Meslay has published extensively on British Art in France. From 2006 to 2009 he was the chief curator in charge of the Louvre Lens project. He is a member of the editorial board of The British Art Journal, London, and is a member of the Société d’Histoire de l’Art Français, Paris.

From 2009 to 2016 he served as associate director of curatorial affairs, senior curator of European and American art, and The Barbara Thomas Lemmon Curator of European Art at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA). In 2016, he became the fifth director of the Clark Art Institute.

Meslay is married to scholar Laure de Margerie.
