Oran Metro
The Oran Metro (Arab : مترو وهران) is an extensive network of rapid transit electrified railway lines that run mostly underground in central Oran and into the city's suburbs. It is part of the larger public transport system of Oran, the 2nd largest city in Algeria

History
The Oran metro project was launched in 2008, its construction is then planned for 2014. Phase 1 of a length of 10.8 km is expected to start south of Oran to Hai Badr district then cross Mouahidine before be in correspondence with the Oran tramway in Sidi El Bachir then serve SNTF railway station and the headquarters of the wilaya of Oran; Metro then continue north east of the city in Hai Mactaa Gambetta and finally along the Millennium Boulevard and arrive at Bir El Djir1.
In January 2014, during the presentation of the technical study was not completed, it was announced that a notice international bidding will be launched for the first section, after the finalization of the technical study submitted. The first tranche, which must have a length of 12 8 km and 13 stations at an estimated operation to open the 2020 horizon.
In March 2014, the director of transportation of the Wilaya, with representatives of the project owner Enterprise Metro d'Alger (EMA) indicates that the technical study is finalized: the expected cost is 138 billion Algerian dinars (1.3 billion euros) for a length of 19.66 kilometres and 20 stations. The start of construction is scheduled for the end of 2014 for a first tranche of stage Bouakeul, west of the city, at the roundabout of the headquarters of the Wilaya eastward
