Ortaçalı, Elazığ

Ortaçalı is a village of Sivrice District in Elazığ Province eastern Turkey.[2] The village is inhabited by the Kurdish Parçikan tribe.[3]

The town is located to the west of Sivrice township and north of the Euphrates River. The population in 2011 was 187 people[4] and the post code was 23350.

The village is situated below Meryem Mountain and the area has a continental climate. The economy of the village is based on agriculture, particularly Apricot, wheat, barley, walnut and tomato crops. The town has a primary school and a mosque.

Earthquakes

In 2007 an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred on Sunday, February 25, 2007, centered on the town.[5]

Ortaçalı was also strongly impacted by the 2020 Elazığ earthquake.
