History

Pamilya Ko was aired on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida evening block every weeknights at 5:45pm from September 9, 2019 to March 13, 2020 for a total of 135 episodes.[4] Due to the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, the drama was put on halt and was replaced by reruns of 100 Days to Heaven beginning March 16, 2020.[5]

However, the future of Pamilya Ko has put in doubt after ABS-CBN ceased its free-to-air broadcast operations on May 5, 2020,[6] due to the cease and desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida.[7]

COVID-19 pandemic

On March 31, 2020, Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde were tested positive for COVID-19.[8]

Cancellation

On June 13, 2020, RGE Drama Unit announced on its social media accounts that Pamilya Ko has been permanently cancelled.[3] No reason was given, the announcement came a week after the confirmed cancellation of another drama series Make It with You due to numerous reasons including health concerns of its lead actress Liza Soberano.[9] Meanwhile, Pamilya Ko production manager Mavic Holgado-Oducayen has passed away on July 22, 2020 due to heart attack because of the franchise denial of ABS-CBN and its retrenchments,[1][2] voted 70-11 of the resolution to reject the franchise by the House of Representatives.[10][11][12]
