Paolo Fabbri (semiotician)

Fabbri taught at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris from 1992 to 1996. He also taught at the University of Florence, the University of Urbino, the University of Palermo, the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, and the Collège international de philosophie.[2] He was also a visiting professor in the United States, Australia, Canada, Spain, Brazil, and Argentina. He was a professor at the faculty of art and design of the Università IUAV di Venezia.

Early in his career, Fabbri helped launch the Center for Semiotics in Urbino. He co-directed the magazine Mezzavoce , published by the Italian and French Ministries of Foreign Affairs. He wrote several books and studied the aspects of language and communication problems. He studied semiotic systems and processes from a similar perspective to those of Algirdas Julien Greimas and Jacques Fontanille. He served as President of the International Association for Visual Semiotics.
