Paota is a gram panchayat, tehsil and newly made Municipality located in Jaipur district 80km north to Jaipur and 170km south east to delhi on highhway NH-48 (AJMER- DELHI EXPRESSWAY) Rajasthan state of India.

Paota is a Tehsil in Jaipur district,Rajasthan. MR. INDRAJ GURJAR is MLA(Member of Legislative Assembly)and MR. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is MP(Member of Parliament and Served as a Cabinet Minister for Ministry of Sports,India).Paota initially was a gram panchayat under Panchayat President Mrs. Urmila Agarwal (w / o Nirmal Pansari).Paota became the tehsil after much awaited request recognised by the Government of Rajasthan which previously was the constitute of viratnagar. Paota municipality is serving along with Pragpura and now it is known by PAOTA- PRAGPURA MUNICIPALITY with almost total 2522 families residing in it. The Paota town has population of 15473 of which 8119 are males while 7354 are females as per Population Census 2011. In Paota town population of children with age 0-6 is 2315 which makes up 14.96% of total population of village.
