Patty Gurdy

Patty Gurdy (Patricia Büchler[1]) is a hurdy-gurdy musician, singer and songwriter from Germany. Patty shared on YouTube that she was born in 1997.[2] She took up the instrument in 2014[3] and describes her genre as "Dark Folk Pop".[4] She was a member of German bands Harpyie (under the stage name Io) in 2016[5] and Storm Seeker[4][6] from 2016–2018. Her 2019 festival performances included Smaabyfestivalen in Flekkefjord, Norway[7] and Tredegar House folk festival in Newport, Wales[8] Her collaborations include ASP,[4] Alestorm,[9] Faun,[10] and Ayreon.[11] She formed Patty Gurdy's Circle with the members of Subway to Sally.[12]

  • Pirate Scum (Storm Seeker, 2016), credited – as Patricia Büchler – as lyricist for three of the six tracks and as musician for Hurdy Gurdy, Vocals, Whistle.[13] Metal.de said "Patty ... does a fantastic job in songs like "The Longing".
