Peycho Kanev

Peycho Kanev (Bulgarian: Пейчо Кънев) is a poet, writer and translator born in Silistra, Bulgaria.

Books

    Kanev has published in over 900 literary journals. He is the author of four poetry collections and two chapbooks. His collection Bone Silence was released in 2010 by Desperanto, NY. In 2009, Please Press published his poetry collection r, written in collaboration with poet Felino Soriano. Please Press published his chapbook Thrw:3, which is a collection of poetry and prose by three writers: Kanev, Soriano and Steve Calamars.

    In 2015, he released the poetry collection Живо месо (Raw Meat) with poetry publishing house Da in Bulgaria. Уиски в тенекиена кутия (Whiskey in a Tin Can) was published with Janet-45 Print and Publishing in 2013. Американски тетрадки (American Notebooks) was published by Ciela Soft and Publishing in 2010. Ciela also published Разходка през стените in 2009.

    Kanev won European awards for his poetry and was nominated for the Pushcart Award and Best of the Net. Translations of his books are planned for Italy, Poland and Russia.

    His poems appeared in many literary magazines, including Poetry Quarterly, Evergreen Review, Hawaii Review, Cordite Poetry Review, Sheepshead Review, Off the Coast, JMWW, The Coachella Review, Mascara Literary Review, The Mayo Review, Two Thirds North, Sierra Nevada Review, and The Cleveland Review, among many others.
