Pilar Quintana

Pilar Quintana (born 1972) is a Colombian writer. She was born in Cali and studied at the Javeriana University in Bogota.[1]

She is best known for her novels La Perra, which won the IV Award Biblioteca de Narrativa Colombiana, and Coleccionistas de polvos raros, which won the La Mar de Letras Award. In 2007 she was chosen as one of the Bogota39, a selection of the most promising young writers in Latin America.[2] Her novel La Perra appeared in English translation under the title The Bitch (translated from the Spanish by Lisa Dillman and published by World Editions) and was shortlisted for the National Book Award in October 2020 and announced winner of the English Pen Award.
